The dream project

when we have the strategy and implementation plan in our hand, the time came for execution.. me and COO sat with each function head with the implementation plan and identified preliminary projects from there... initially we identified 65 projects within the entire portfolio which later we clubbed to 21 CFT for better management.. for each CFT we assigned sponsor, champion, co-champion, and a cross-functional team.. then the champion and sponsor presented the project charter and milestone to COO.. with few corrections COO approved all 21 CFT for execution.. we were only 45 people running 21 projects under one single dream.. our dream project..

we stepped to a different world when we started the execution.. all of us put our heart to make the dream successful.. with so many limitations, with so little resources.. the team astonished everyone with their capability of execution..

it was possible for only one reason- our leader showed us the vision, and each one of the team believed that wholeheartedly..

The implementation plan

Our business plan got huge appreciation from management committee, MD, Chairman and bank... but that did not give us any rest... we were asked to come up with implementation plan... the implementation plan was also a huge exercise that included broad action plan (BAPs), specific action plan (SAPs), activity, timeline, KPI, when to measure, how to measure etc. i must say that finally it was fantustically done after a number of reviews by me and COO... we had to download tons of information from internet during this period... this exercise helped us to view the entire business process at-a-glance... after a lot of trial and error, it was really a big innovation for us...

When we start...

It was a day in October 2007... my boss Asif Iqbal resigned from AKTEL and declared to join ACI as Chief Operating Officer... just after submitting the resignation he called me in his room and said if I want to join with him to start a new journey to work for the nation... within a second my reply was 'of course'...

January 1, 2008... first day in ACI for me and mushfique bhai... from then to next two months our assignment was just to read... after few days it became another MBA for few of us who have joined at that time... then we got shehab bhai, tarek bhai, sabbir bhai, kefayet bhai, didar and then many others..

Then the time came when we are asked to put our ideas to shape a business... it was never so easy as it sounds... everyday we have gathered in a small conference room called 'Rockers' and spent our entire day there challenging each other... after that we called external experts to challenge us... the challenge was really became a fun for us... later this approach helped us to build such a robust business plan that no one could question... finally we have presented the business plan to MD on February 27, Chairman on March 3 and bank on April 3, 2008...

Shwapno... Dream... my dream... our dream... a dream for changing the lifestyle of a nation...

Finally I have started to write the story... the story of Shwapno... let me take you through a passion of a team who are working day and night for Shwapno... I really don't want to let these days lost.. I second MD, I want to hold these days forever... in my pictures, videos, and writings..
